City founded in 1819th, ows its delimitation to French Colons from Bordeaux and from Louisiana who made the urbanistic and architectural basis.

The perfect layout of its roads shows the splendour of a cosmopolitan culture marked by a strong french accent and give the occasion, for visitors, to become impregnated with the neo-classical atmosphere which characterize this town, built on the bay verge with deeply implanted seascape traditions in an area wich possesses other natural charms and a huge culinary culture.
Its history is marked by the Nuestra Senora de los Angeles de Jagua Castle, full of Legends and which since 250 years defend the only sea access of the one of more best bay of Hispanic America.

The City of Cienfuegos has among its architectural treasures the unique triumph arc of the island, the third fortress after the one of Havana and Santiago de Cuba and numerous buildings inspired by Italian neo classicism and judiciously distributed in this city named “The Southern Pearl”.
